Three Simple Strategies to Sleep Better

Download your free cheat sheet to start sleeping smarter tonight.

Can you put down your phone? Or your glass or your book? Whatever drives your craving for more is powered by dopamine. Eventually, we reach a point where we want it, even though we don’t like it. There’s a reason for that. Our brains experience pleasure and pain in the same place and when the balance tips, our body craves balance. But balance isn’t easy to achieve with addiction.

Dr. Lembke discusses screen addiction with Dr. Vickie on Healthy Looks Great on You.

In this episode, Dr. Anna Lembke advocates for cellphone bans in K-12 schools. Plus, you’ll learn the role of dopamine in addiction, whether to digital drugs like cellphones, or physical drugs and other behaviors. And, what you can do about it.

Dr. Anna Lembke is a psychiatrist at Stanford University who specializes in addition. She has been featured in the New York Times and on the powerful 2020 Netflix documentary, “The Social Dilemma.”

She is the author of “Dopamine Nation,” and “Drug Dealer, M.D.”
