What People are Saying about the LAB

I joined the LAB because I finally realized that I couldn’t move toward real, sustainable health on my own.  I’m at midlife, and I’ve started struggling with minor injuries and aches that were impacting my mobility – and making me worried about what my future would hold.  The pounds kept creeping on, my waistline was increasing and the usual tricks weren’t working.  When I thought about my family history of Alzheimer’s and heart disease, my concern for the years to come only grew.  I knew that losing weight and exercising more would help, and that the time to start making changes was now.  But I wasn’t sure I could make changes – and sustain them! – on my own.
I knew that I needed more help than just a podcast or blog post, but I definitely didn’t want the intensity of a one-on-one health coach or personal trainer.  I needed a reasonable, knowledgeable, encouraging guide – someone who could cut through the noise, overwhelm, and conflicting opinions in the healthcare industry.  I love that Dr. Vickie teaches and explains things, gives specific suggestions, and provides personal support as needed.  And I love doing this alongside other women on similar journeys so that we can cheer each other on.  The LAB gives me the practical, real life suggestions and the accountability I need to make changes.
The results have been worth it.  In just a few weeks, I’ve significantly changed my nutrition and exercise habits.  I’ve been feeling good, feeling full, eating less, moving more… and I’ve dropped 10 lbs.  But the biggest change is my mindset and how I think about food and the way I want to nourish my body.  The future certainly looks brighter!

I did get a little off track this weekend but hey progress was made.

It’s true when she talks about how serious of an issue it is to take care of our bodies. I love the way she weaves in age-reminiscent humor and references in her podcasts – which are a hoot! I find myself LOL in almost every episode. Vickie makes the seriousness of “Lifestyle Medicine”, fun.
